Grayfern is a small independent studio. We take on a handful of projects at a time and work directly with the people who will use the result.
What we do
Our work tends to fall into three buckets: connecting systems that were never designed to talk to each other, replacing fragile manual processes with something scheduled and observable, and building the small internal tools that hold a workflow together.
How we approach it
We start by writing down what "finished" means. That document is usually short, and it is usually the most useful artefact of the whole engagement. Everything after that is implementation.
We favour plain technology with a long support horizon. If a dependency is likely to be unmaintained in three years, we would rather not introduce it.

Engagements are scoped in weeks, not quarters. You get the source, the deployment notes and a walkthrough before we close out.
